Admission Criteria for Engineering Colleges in India
Admission requirements for engineering colleges in India can vary depending on the college, university, state, and engineering branch. However, most B.E./B.Tech. admissions generally follow these criteria:
Required Subjects
Physics and Mathematics are generally required, along with a third relevant subject such as Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or a technical/vocational subject.
Minimum Marks
Many institutions require a minimum percentage in the qualifying examination. The exact requirement may differ by institution and category.
Entrance Examination
Admission may be based on entrance exams such as JEE Main, state-level entrance examinations, or university-specific entrance tests. JEE Main is used for admission to participating NITs, IIITs and other institutions.
